With 11,000+ attendees, 300+ exhibitors, and 250+ CPD sessions on offer, it&#8217;s the must-attend event if you\u2019re serious about future-proofing your practice\u2026 but it\u2019s also a lot.&nbsp; A lot of people.&nbsp; A lot of content. A lot a lot.&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>So, as someone who\u2019s not missed an Accountex in the last decade (yes, I\u2019ve got the swag bags to prove it), I&#8217;ve picked up a few tips on how to really make the most of this essential event.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here\u2019s my no-nonsense guide to squeezing every bit of value out of Accountex London 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-set-clear-objectives\"><strong>Set clear objectives<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Before you even step foot inside ExCeL (and get distracted by the first shiny stand you see), know what you\u2019re there for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Identify Your Needs<\/strong>: Are you hunting for new software, fresh insights, or just good old-fashioned networking?<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Prioritise Your Goals<\/strong>: Be honest with yourself \u2014 what will actually move your business forward, not just look good on LinkedIn (although that IS important also\u2026 see later).&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Having clear objectives helps you stay laser-focused \u2014 otherwise, you\u2019ll spend the day wandering aimlessly, coffee in one hand, brochure in the other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-plan-your-agenda\"><strong>Plan your agenda<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>With hundreds of sessions and stands competing for your attention, a plan is essential. Otherwise, chaos awaits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Review the Agenda<\/strong>: Pick sessions that genuinely support your goals. When you know WHY you are going you can see what sessions and vendors align with that and focus your attention there.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Map Out Exhibitors<\/strong>: Highlight the must-visits \u2014 both the ones you know and the new kids on the block. Allow time for each conversation.&nbsp; But remember you don&#8217;t have to buy anything on the day. Those deals will still be there weeks later (and likely more so closer to month end)<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Allocate Your Time<\/strong>: Leave room for a few spontaneous conversations \u2014 they\u2019re often the most valuable.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Top tip:<\/strong> If you want a chair, popular sessions fill up <em>fast<\/em>, so don&#8217;t saunter in five minutes late clutching your Pret. Get there early.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-engage-with-exhibitors-like-a-pro\"><strong>Engage with Exhibitors (Like a Pro)<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Approaching stands without a plan is like going shopping hungry \u2014 you\u2019ll end up with things you don\u2019t need. Trust me I do BOTH a lot.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Prepare Questions<\/strong>: Know what you want to ask \u2014 make it specific to your real challenges and the pain you are trying to solve (Top Tip: Share that pain, if they can&#8217;t solve it they will tell you soon enough)<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Request Demos<\/strong>: A quick live demo will tell you more than any slick sales pitch. And if they cant show it to you it probably isn&#8217;t real\u2026 yet (Yes Vendors bring tech that isn&#8217;t ready)<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Give Feedback<\/strong>: Be brave enough to tell your current suppliers what\u2019s working (and what isn\u2019t). You might just spark improvements and if not at least get an idea if they are right for you.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Trust me, exhibitors love a visitor who knows what they want \u2014 and aren\u2019t just after the branded stress balls (and on this yes there\u2019s a lot of swag but don&#8217;t be a #SwagHag, take what you need.&nbsp; I hate how much waste events can produce and unneeded Swag is a huge part of that!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-make-the-most-of-networking\"><strong>Make the most of networking<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Yes, you\u2019re there to learn \u2014 but don\u2019t underestimate the power of a good conversation.&nbsp; For me, events are roughly 50% networking, 25% vendors and 25% talks.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Attend Social Events<\/strong>: After-hours gatherings are brilliant for relaxed, genuine conversations (and yes, usually a drink or two). Accountex usually has LOTS of these (including the night before\u2026 #accountaxe)<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Visit Feature Zones<\/strong>: In previous years places like the Bookkeepers\u2019 Base Camp and the LinkedIn Lounge were networking goldmines.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Some of the best opportunities aren\u2019t on the main agenda \u2014 they\u2019re in the conversations you didn\u2019t expect to have.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-get-social-digitally-speaking\"><strong>Get Social (Digitally Speaking)<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re not posting about Accountex, did you even attend?&nbsp; But joking aside, make sure people know you are going beforehand (pre-networking) and what you\u2019ve done throughout the day!&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Share Insights<\/strong>: Post key takeaways to build your personal brand (and help others find their way).<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Engage with Hashtags<\/strong>: #ACX25 &amp; #Accountex is buzzing during the event \u2014 join the conversation.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Connect With Speakers and Peers<\/strong>: Follow up online while the connection (and conversation) is still warm. &nbsp;<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s an easy way to extend the event experience way beyond those two days at ExCeL.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-follow-up-is-key\"><strong>Follow-up is key<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The event may end, but the real work starts afterwards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Review Your Notes<\/strong>: Summarise key actions \u2014 before they disappear into the \u2018I\u2019ll get round to it\u2019 pile and use them to make a plan.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Reach Out<\/strong>: Don\u2019t let those new connections go cold.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Implement Changes<\/strong>: Apply what you\u2019ve learnt \u2014 otherwise, what was the point?<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>A bit of prompt follow-up can turn a good event into a game-changing one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-final-thoughts\"><strong>Final thoughts<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Accountex London isn\u2019t just another date in the diary \u2014 it\u2019s a genuine opportunity to sharpen your skills, discover new ideas, and build the connections that\u2019ll drive your practice forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Go in with a clear plan, stay flexible enough to spot hidden opportunities, and crucially, <em>act<\/em> on what you learn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Oh and my last big tip\u2026 wear comfortable shoes.&nbsp; There is a LOT of walking to be done!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-register-now-at-accountex-co-uk-and-i-ll-see-you-at-excel\"><strong>Register now at<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.accountex.co.uk\"><strong> <\/strong><strong>accountex.co.uk<\/strong><\/a> \u2014 and I&#8217;ll see you at ExCel<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-heading-to-accountex-2025-so-are-many-of-our-customers-and-you-can-meet-them-on-our-stand\">Heading to Accountex 2025?
